Thank you for the enquiry regarding admission for your child. The following forms are included with this letter:
1. Application for admission
2. Annexure A: to be filled in by your child’s Principal and faxed back to us
3. Annexure B: to be filled in by the learner
4. Annexure C: to be filled in by you
Please complete the necessary forms and send them back to the school, together with the following:
Your child’s latest report
A copy of both parents’ ID documents
A copy of the death certificate if either parent is deceased
A copy of the learner’s ID document or birth certificate
Two ID photographs of the learner
Proof of residence.
Please submit a copy of a most recent utility bill. If you are renting please attach a copy of the lease agreement.
Please note that only applications that have been completed in full and with all the above-mentioned documents will be accepted.
The following criteria play an important role in the processing of applications:
The proficiency of the applicant in English
The proximity of the applicant’s residence (preference must be given to pupils who live close to the school);
The fact that we can accept only a certain number of learners in grade 8 and therefore we urge parents to apply to other high schools as well.
SCHOOL FEE STRUCTURE
School fees for the ensuing year are set at the AGM in October/November of the preceding year.
Groote Schuur High School is a fee-paying school, according to SA Schools Act 84 of 1996.
School fees are payable in advance unless an arrangement has been made with the Finance office.
The school fees in 2018 are R23 900 as well as a voluntary I.T. Resource Levy of R800 and this will be required within 7 days of acceptance of the learner.
We request that you do not make telephonic enquiries regarding the status of applications. Each applicant will be contacted by 22/06/2018. The non-refundable I.T resource levy is required within 7 days of notification of acceptance of the learner.
The closing date for applications for admission 2019 is 23/03/2018.
